Onsite Project Manager - Construction
Top General Contractor in Mobile seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager with manufacturing knowledge to join the team and immediately assist with / lead a large project in the Montgomery area. Initially, this role will be 4+ days onsite (company-paid housing) with long-term plans to be fully in Mobile.

My client provides Construction Management, Specialty Contracting, and General Contracting services to clients in the Commercial and Industrial markets. They foster relationships with their clients to add value. With three offices and over 300 employees, this company has etched its name in Alabama history and is known for the top-tier quality they provide.
My client, which has been in business for over 100 years, already has a strong list of repeat clients in addition to their constantly-growing bid portfolio. One of their core markets is Automotive Manufacturing facilities, where they perform as both GC and Subcontractor for concrete, steel, and metal building scopes. This company self-performs these trades, allowing them to capitalize on margins much more effectively.
They are seeking a Project Manager or high-level Assistant Project Manager to join their Mobile office and help drive the continued growth of that business. Initially, this PM will report to a project site south of Montgomery, AL but will inevitably be located fully in Mobile.
Description
- Work alongside the Senior Project Manager to oversee entire project staff
- Manage and develop assigned staff toward maximum job performance and career potential.
- Build and maintain rapport with architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Understand and administer contract and subcontract agreements.
- Establish, communicate, and implement the Project Schedule
- Manage budget and financial reporting
- Interpret and analyze reports to ensure adherence to project budget.
- Manage the Quality Assurance/Quality Control program.
- Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, and fee and pricing decisions
Profile
- 4+ years experience in Construction Project Management
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field strongly preferred
- Experience with ground-up projects
- Experience with Automotive clients is a plus
- OSHA certification preferred
- Proficient in project management software
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Desire to work in Mobile, AL long-term with ability to be onsite in East AL at least 4 days per week
