Quality Engineer - Electronics & Defense - Clinton, MA
The Quality Engineer role involves ensuring compliance with ISO quality system requirements, managing quality assurance functions, and coordinating corrective actions as needed. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead and motivate quality personnel within a manufacturing environment.

Our client is a well-established company with 40 years of history in the semiconductor industry. Initially a distributor, they transitioned into manufacturing parts primarily for military and commercial applications, with a focus on the military sector. They specialize in providing Military/Commercial and Bare Die components, including Integrated Circuits (ICs), Discrete Components, and Passives to Aerospace, Military, Medical, and Industrial markets.
With 40 years of experience, our client offers customized Vendor Managed Inventory programs and Off-The-Shelf Inventory solutions to meet specific customer needs. They serve as a single-source solution provider, catering to diverse industry requirements.
Operating at the micro-level within the semiconductor industry, our client specializes in raw materials, particularly silicone, with their main product being silicone-based components.
Description
- Fulfill all ISO quality system requirements, including charting, reporting, and participation in audits.
- Collaborate with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation.
- Liaise with customers' auditors and execute corrective actions as needed.
- Organize and manage quality assurance function in cooperation with customers and management.
- Manage quality inspection and product release programs for materials, processes, and finished goods.
- Assess product specifications and compare with customer requirements.
- Coordinate resolution of NMR/CAR/RMA/RGA issues.
- Administer quality personnel human resource concerns such as performance appraisals and scheduling.
- Identify and champion improvements throughout the execution process.
- Present performance metrics, projects, and information.
- Provide support on quality-related issues to all personnel.
- Utilize problem-solving skills effectively.
- Act as a technical resource for the sales team.
- Process Product Change Notices received from suppliers.
Profile
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 5 years of practical experience in Military/Aerospace Hybrids/MCM
- Strong communication skills
- Strong work ethic
- Ability to interpret control drawings
- Experience in electrical, medical, or aerospace fields
- Customer-focused approach, addressing issues and aligning parts as per customer requirements
- Ability to liaise with vendors and customers to resolve issues and ensure part functionality
