Sr. Manufacturing Engineer - Concord, MA - Advanced Materials
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for advanced ceramic and composite components. This role partners closely with Production, Quality, and R&D teams to improve yield, reduce defects, and support process scale‑up while meeting stringent aerospace quality and safety standards. This is a hands‑on position with strong visibility across operations.

Description
Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve yield, quality, and cycle times
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent throughput
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and data‑driven methodologies
- Specify, evaluate, and support manufacturing equipment, tooling, jigs, and fixtures
- Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, process documentation, and technical reports
- Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with QMS, customer requirements, and aerospace standards (AS9100, NADCAP)
- Support new product introductions and process scale‑up efforts
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet safety, environmental, and hazardous material handling standards
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- B.S. in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Ceramics Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
- 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in ceramics, composites, injection molding, casting, or advanced materials
- Experience working in high‑throughput manufacturing environments with a strong focus on quality
- Hands‑on experience with SPC, DOE, and statistical analysis to drive process improvements
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, and CI tools
- Working knowledge of CAD software for tooling and fixture design
- Strong communicator with the ability to collaborate cross‑functionally and support production teams on the floor
