They have recently secured a large project in Charlottesville and need a strong Superintendent to lead it.

Description

The Superintendent - Charlottesville, VA - Large-Scale Projects will be responsible for:

  • Oversee daily on-site operations for commercial construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Enforce compliance with project plans, specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily job site inspections and safety meetings; maintain a clean, organized, and secure job site.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to resolve field issues and ensure project alignment.
  • Schedule and supervise all phases of construction, from site prep through punch list and project closeout.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation including daily logs, progress photos, and subcontractor reports.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met and conduct regular inspections of work in progress.
  • Manage material deliveries, equipment, and on-site logistics to avoid delays and maximize efficiency.
  • Lead coordination and communication between trades to avoid conflicts and promote a smooth workflow.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project budget and assist with identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to crew members and junior superintendents.

Profile

The Superintendent - Charlottesville, VA - Large-Scale Projects will have:

  • 15+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, ground-up projects valued at $80M+
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, scheduling, and site logistics.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and technical documents.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, PlanGrid, MS Project).
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a mentor/leader.
