Senior Quality Engineer

$120,000 - $140,000/Year

This Senior Quality Engineer role strengthens and advances the company's AS9100‑aligned Quality Management System while driving continuous improvement, audit readiness, and defect‑reduction initiatives. The position partners closely with Operations, Engineering, and QC to execute data‑driven root cause analysis and elevate quality performance across multiple manufacturing sites.

Description

  • Maintain and continuously improve the company's AS9100‑compliant Quality Management System.
  • Lead key quality processes including ECO, CRB, RCCA, CAPA, MRB, FMEA, Hazop, and process validation.
  • Manage internal, customer, and third‑party certification audits with responsibility for timely closure of findings.
  • Develop and maintain controlled documents such as procedures, work instructions, and quality forms.
  • Deliver QMS training across departments and reinforce a strong culture of quality and compliance.
  • Analyze QC data to identify upstream root causes and drive defect‑reduction initiatives.
  • Establish and track quality performance metrics including yield, defect trends, and rework levels.
  • Partner with QC to standardize inspection methods, acceptance criteria, and defect classifications.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Operations to reduce variation, enhance process capability, and improve product reliability.
  • Support deployment of digital tools such as automated inspection and electronic defect tracking.
  • Participate in supplier quality activities and incoming inspection processes.
  • Promote proactive quality practices focused on prevention rather than detection.

Profile

  • Must meet U.S. Person requirements under export regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline-or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in aerospace, precision manufacturing, ceramics, or a similar regulated technical environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100 or ISO 9001 QMS principles and documentation.
  • Proficiency with root cause analysis, CAPA systems, and audit processes.
  • Familiarity with dimensional inspection, metrology, defect classification, and GD&T.
  • Experience with PLM systems, ECO workflows, and documentation control.
  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills using tools such as Excel or Power BI.
  • Certifications such as CQE, CQA, or Lead Auditor are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to travel periodically and work in lab/production environments with required PPE.
