Cash Application Specialist
Our client, a premier food manufacturer based in West Chester, PA, is looking for a cash application specialist. This is a full time role, and the successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in cash application/management.
Client Details
Well known food manufacturer based in West Chester, PA. This role is 5 days per week in office for the first 3 months, before offering 2 days of hybrid flexibility afterwards & offers a chance to work with a collaborative team at a longstanding company.
Description
This role will involve:
Cash Receipts Processing:
- Accurately record and process all incoming payments (checks, cash, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card transactions) in a timely manner.
- Prepare daily cash receipts reports and ensure proper deposit into the correct accounts.
- Verify and reconcile cash receipts against customer accounts and the general ledger.
Reconciliation and Reporting:
- Regularly reconcile bank statements and cash accounts.
- Maintain accurate and detailed transaction records.
- Assist with month-end closing processes by providing timely and precise financial data.
Customer Interaction:
- Communicate with customers regarding payment discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all cash handling processes adhere to company policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Protect the confidentiality and security of financial data and documentation.
Team Collaboration:
- Work cross-functionally with the accounts receivable, finance, and customer service teams to resolve payment issues.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support finance-related projects.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate on best practices.
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- Associates degree preferred; high school diploma required
- 1+ year experience in cash handling, accounting, accounts receive, accounts payable, or a similar role
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software/ERP systems preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Team-oriented with willingness to collaborate across departments
