About the Opportunity: My client, a premier general contracting firm specializing in hospitality renovations, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Estimating/Chief Estimator to lead its estimating department.This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within a fast-paced and growing company while overseeing high-profile commercial renovation projects across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the estimating department across multiple office locations (MD & CA), ensuring efficiency and accuracy in all bid submissions.
Provide mentorship, training, and direct oversight to a team of estimators and senior estimators.
Delegate workload effectively to maintain productivity in a high-volume bid environment.
Develop conceptual estimates for commercial projects, with a focus on hospitality renovations, office interiors, and other fast-paced builds.
Collaborate closely with the senior leadership team and report directly to the President.
Play a strategic role in securing new business and maintaining competitive pricing strategies.
10+ years of experience in conceptual estimating within commercial construction.
Proven leadership and management experience, including direct oversight of estimating teams.
Background in hospitality renovations, office interiors, or other rapid-turnaround projects is highly desirable.
Strong ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously in a high-paced environment.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
