Description
They are seeking a Manufacturing Project Engineer to lead and support engineering projects aimed at optimizing production processes, improving efficiencies, and implementing new manufacturing technologies. This role requires a hands-on approach to problem-solving, strong project management skills, and experience in plastic manufacturing processes such as injection molding, blow molding, and extrusion.
- Manage end-to-end project lifecycles, from concept development to implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Design, develop, and implement manufacturing process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, production, quality, and maintenance) to introduce new products and manufacturing technologies.
- Lead process validation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for production challenges.
- Oversee capital equipment selection, installation, and commissioning to support production growth.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards in all engineering projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency improvements, and defect reduction.
- Provide technical support and training to production teams.
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in plastic bottle, container, or component manufacturing.
- Knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes, such as blow molding, injection molding, and extrusion.
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for tooling and equipment design.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with automation and robotics in plastic manufacturing is a plus.
