As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will design and optimize automation systems for advanced battery manufacturing, integrating mechanical, electrical, and software components to enhance production efficiency. Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and integrate mechatronics control systems for automated battery manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams (electrical, mechanical, software) to design innovative, efficient, and sustainable manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Optimize the interaction of mechanical, electrical, and software systems to ensure seamless operation and performance in battery production.
  • Design and implement automation solutions, including PLC programming, sensor integration, and actuator control for advanced manufacturing processes.
  • Support the integration of robotics and automated equipment for battery assembly and testing.
  • Conduct system-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and provide solutions for complex operational issues.
  • Design and develop control strategies to maximize efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve overall production performance.
  • Implement SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and control of manufacturing processes, ensuring data accuracy and process optimization.
  • Assist in designing and integrating HMIs for real-time data visualization and control interface for operators and engineers.
  • Collaborate with process and design engineers to define requirements and specifications for mechatronic systems and automation tools.
  • Test, validate, and ensure the reliability of mechatronic systems in battery production environments, conducting continuous improvements where necessary.
  • Support the commissioning, installation, and maintenance of automation systems and provide technical training for operational staff.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

Profile

Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing mechatronics systems, particularly in automation or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with automation technologies such as PLCs, robotics, actuators, sensors, and industrial control systems.
  • Solid understanding of mechatronics principles, combining mechanical, electrical, and software engineering for integrated systems.
  • Familiar with industrial control networks (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) and automation protocols.
  • Experience with SCADA systems (Ignition preferred) and designing HMIs for production environments.
  • Strong programming skills in PLC languages (e.g., Ladder Logic, Structured Text), Python, or other scripting languages for automation and data analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with system integration and troubleshooting in manufacturing environments, particularly with automated production lines.
  • Knowledge of battery manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and quality control processes, is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team, solving complex engineering problems.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across engineering teams and with external vendors.
