Real Estate Analyst
Our client, an impactful nonprofit based in Brooklyn, is looking for an experienced financial analyst with 3+ years of real estate experience. This is a temp to perm role, and the successful candidate will be immediately available to start a new role.
Client Details
Impactful nonprofit involved in affordable housing and retail properties based in Brooklyn. This role is 5 days per week in office before transitioning to hybrid & offers a chance to work with a growing nonprofit with a great portfolio.
Description
This role will involve:
- Data Extraction & Financial Modeling: Pulling raw data-primarily from Excel and third-party property managers-and turning it into clean, structured models. This includes projections and scenario planning for retail assets.
- Dashboard Creation: Building tools to visualize key performance indicators across the portfolio.
- REO Data Organization: Taking disorganized data from real estate owned (REO) assets and developing usable, consistent formats to support decision-making.

Manual System Navigation: Working across disparate, mostly manual systems to consolidate, validate, and analyze data.

Reporting: Prepare investment memos, presentations, and dashboards for internal or external stakeholders.

Property Valuation: Estimate the value of properties using data and valuation techniques (e.g., discounted cash flow analysis, sales comparison, or income approach).
Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of financial analysis experience, preferably in real estate or nonprofit sectors.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, MRI).
- Strong understanding of real estate finance, including tax credits and affordable housing regulations.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
