Operations Engineer - Industrial Manufacturing - Providence, RI
My client is looking for a motivated engineer with a strong technical foundation in manufacturing to help oversee and optimize operational processes. The ideal candidate combines problem-solving ability, technical know-how, and leadership potential to drive efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement in electroplating operations.

Description
The Operations Engineer will report directly into the Operations Manager and be responsible for:
- Support daily electroplating activities, ensuring smooth coordination across production, quality, and R&D.
- Use your knowledge of electroplating and chemistry to troubleshoot issues, improve formulations, and boost efficiency.
- Help refine processes to enhance quality, safety, and environmental performance.
- Learn and uphold industry standards, OSHA regulations, and internal policies.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and sales to align operations with business goals.
- Gain experience in budgeting, procurement, and inventory management for plating materials.
- Assist in tracking KPIs to measure quality and operational success.
- Identify and help mitigate operational risks to maintain a safe, sustainable environment.

Profile
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science or a related field
- 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing industry
- Basic understanding of chemical reactions and metal deposition processes.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement, lean and six sigma tools.
- Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Passion for learning, teamwork, and process optimization.
