Senior Buyer - Ingredients & Chemicals

We are seeking a Senior Buyer with 4+ years of experience in purchasing ingredients, chemicals, or raw materials, as well as expertise in supply planning, supplier management, and contract negotiation.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer with a background in purchasing ingredients, chemicals, or raw materials. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong procurement, supplier management, and planning experience to ensure cost-effective sourcing and supply chain efficiency.

Description

• Source and procure ingredients, chemicals, and raw materials from domestic and international suppliers
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and on-time delivery
• Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to optimize cost savings and supplier performance
• Analyze market trends and supplier data to inform purchasing decisions and mitigate supply chain risks
• Manage inventory and supply planning to align with production needs and demand forecasts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, R&D, quality, and finance
• Identify and address potential supply chain disruptions proactively

Profile

• 4+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on ingredients, chemicals, or raw materials
• Strong background in supply planning and inventory management
• Experience with contract negotiation and supplier management
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (three days onsite in Addison, IL)
