We are actively working with a growing CNC Machinery Manufacturing Company in their search to add a Quality Engineer with a CNC background to the team due to growth. This position will work at the 100+ employee plant and will report up into the Quality Manager. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience ideally within a Machine Shop, will have their bachelors degree in engineering, and will have a strong validations background. Description

The Quality Engineer - CNC Machine Shop Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems to ensure product compliance with specifications and industry standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications to determine quality requirements.
  • Conduct first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections of CNC machined parts.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, optical comparators, and height gauges.
  • Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment and measurement tools.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes for internal and external non-conformances.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, and FMEA activities as needed.
  • Work closely with machinists, programmers, and production staff to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation, and quality metrics reports.
  • Assist in internal and external audits (customer audits, ISO audits).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

Profile

The ideal Quality Engineer - CNC Machine Shop Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
  • Experience using inspection tools and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs)
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with statistical process control (SPC)
  • Familiarity with Minitab or other quality analysis software
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Previous audit experience (internal or external)

Job Offer

The successful Quality Engineer - CNC Machine Shop Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:

  • Base Salary of $75,000-$105,000 depending on experience
