Reliability Engineer - Aerospace - Somersworth, NH

The RE ensures that systems, components, and processes meet stringent safety and performance standards, minimizing failures and optimizing product lifespan. You will analyze failure modes, develop preventative maintenance plans, & implement CI strategies to enhance product reliability while ensuring regulatory compliance and meeting customer expectations in high-stakes aerospace applications.

Description

  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, and machine suppliers to define and document a comprehensive maintenance plan, including preventive maintenance
  • Establish and update technical documentation for critical equipment (e.g., HVAC systems)
  • Implement and monitor machine performance metrics (e.g., MTBF, MTTR) and conduct regular machine performance surveys
  • Record and analyze equipment event history to assess preventative maintenance plan efficiency and improve processes
  • Conduct risk analyses (FMEA) for production equipment and propose mitigation strategies
  • Partner with Engineering to enhance system maintainability across equipment like hydraulics, CNC centers, and waste treatment systems
  • Lead and manage large-scale projects in collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations
  • Define and manage spare parts requirements and maintain inventory in coordination with Maintenance, Operations, and Administration
  • Ensure continuous maintenance planning and tracking through the Computerized Maintenance Management System

Profile

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally within aerospace, automotive, or maritime industries.
  • 6+ years of experience in reliability engineering.
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, machine schematics, and preventative maintenance.
  • Self-starter comfortable with ambiguity; able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with master data systems, policies, and processes.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing or Six Sigma techniques preferred.
  • Compliance with AS9100C or ISO9001 standards required.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
  • Must adhere to safety requirements, including protective footwear and eyewear on the production floor.
