Director/VP - LIHTC Underwriting (NY or Remote)

LIHTC EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL. The Director/VP - LIHTC Underwriting will lead the underwriting and financial analysis of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) investments, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in property underwriting and a deep understanding of LIHTC programs.

Description

• Oversee the underwriting process for LIHTC investments, ensuring compliance with program regulations and internal policies.
• Evaluate financial models, market analysis, and development budgets to assess investment feasibility.
• Collaborate with internal teams to structure deals and ensure alignment with company goals.
• Prepare and present investment recommendations to senior management and investment committees.
• Maintain relationships with developers, investors, and other stakeholders in the property industry.
• Monitor project performance and address any compliance or financial issues that may arise.
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in the LIHTC sector.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growth.

Profile

A successful Director/VP - LIHTC Underwriting should have:

• Expertise in LIHTC programs and related regulations.
• Strong national affordable housing exposure with a nework of developers, non-profits, banks and syndicators.
• Some syndication experience would be ideal for this position in addition to strong underwriting anf closing skills.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with financial modeling in the property industry.
• Proven ability to manage complex underwriting processes and make sound investment decisions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
• Leadership qualities that promote team collaboration and development.
