Senior Process Engineer - Plastics - Foxborough, MA

The Senior Process Engineer at my client is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness through technical leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams. This role involves troubleshooting, process improvements, capital project support, and mentoring other technical resources to drive continuous production and operational excellence.

Description

• Prioritize safety in all manufacturing and engineering activities
• Serve as a key resource for process safety on cross-functional operations teams, leading process risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies for identified risks
• Maintain safety, product quality/yield, and manufacturing effectiveness by troubleshooting and resolving process issues on a daily basis, working collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
• Collect production data and apply scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and visualize production processes
• Optimize manufacturing processes for sustained improvements in cost efficiency and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural adjustments
• Work cross-functionally and with customers to resolve technical and quality issues and provide appropriate packaging solutions
• Oversee the startup of new products and equipment, including supervising installation, troubleshooting initial production runs, ensuring compliance with requirements, documenting processes, and transferring to full production
• Lead the management of change process to ensure all process modifications are properly documented
• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and supervision to other engineers, process technicians, and technical resources as needed
• Act as a senior technical leader to establish and document clear objectives, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), job descriptions, and ensure alignment of priorities within the technical team

Profile

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Related Engineering
• 8+ Years of Manufacturing Experience
• Well versed in extrusion, polymers or plastics
• Ability to benchmark, analyze, and draw valid conclusions from various technical processes
• Business acumen, analytical thinking, computer proficiency, teamwork, problem-solving orientation, and networking skills
• Proven ability to effectively communicate with individuals across the organization, from the production floor to Senior Leadership

Job Offer

Competitive Base Salary of $100,000-$120,000
