Quality Engineer - Automotive - Yonkers, NY
The Quality Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the organization maintains its reputation for excellence in precision manufacturing. This position will lead quality initiatives across production, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with ISO/TS 16949 and customer-specific requirements.

Description
The key responsibilities of the Lead Quality Engineer are:
- Lead and oversee quality engineering activities across manufacturing operations.
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in compliance with ISO/TS 16949 standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
- Partner with engineering and production teams to improve processes and reduce defects.
- Manage supplier quality, including audits, evaluations, and corrective actions.
- Prepare and present quality metrics, reports, and improvement plans to leadership.
- Train and mentor team members on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
- Support customer audits and ensure compliance with client-specific requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Profile
The successful Quality Engineer will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in quality engineering within manufacturing (metal stamping or precision components preferred).
- Strong knowledge of ISO/TS 16949 (ISO 9001 minimum)
- Proficient in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA methodologies.
- Proven experience leading quality initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with supplier quality management and customer-facing audits.
- Proficiency in quality tools and statistical analysis software
