Sales Manager - Automotive Paint Refinishing
This is a key commercial role focused on building distributor relationships, growing market share with auto body shops, and expanding into retail channels.
Client Details
A leading global manufacturer of coatings and specialty paints, is expanding its presence in the United States and is seeking a US Sales Manager to drive growth in the automotive paint refinishing market.
Description
- Lead sales growth for automotive refinish product portfolio across the US market.
- Develop and manage strong relationships with distributors, jobbers, and channel partners.
- Drive new business with auto body shops, collision centers, and automotive refinishing professionals.
- Expand penetration into automotive retail channels (e.g., regional and national chains).
- Conduct regular market visits to understand customer needs, product performance, and competitive activity.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure product performance, color-matching accuracy, and training support for distributors and end‑users.

Profile
A successful Sales Manager should have:
- 3-7+ years of experience in automotive paint refinishing sales.
- Strong understanding of refinish products (primers, basecoats, clearcoats, abrasives, etc.).
- Proven track record selling through distributors, jobbers, and channel partners.
- Hands-on experience working directly with auto body shops, collision repair centers, and the automotive aftermarket.
- Experience selling to or partnering with automotive retailers is a strong plus.
- A true hunter mindset, motivated by building new business and capturing market share.
- Ability to work independently in a growing US operation; entrepreneurial mindset.
- Willingness to travel as needed across the Southeast region.
