Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer (Aerospace) will:

  • Ensure compliance with customer and regulatory quality requirements.
  • Support and maintain the Quality Management System, including internal audits.
  • Conduct gage R&R studies and statistical process control (SPC) analysis.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs, control plans, and PPAP documentation.
  • Perform root cause analysis (8D) and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee quality-related policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Work with engineering to evaluate and resolve customer returns.
  • Provide competency-based training for manufacturing and inspection personnel.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve processes and product quality.
  • Interpret and apply industry standards, including ISO9001/AS9100 and Mil Specs.
  • Support machining and inspection operations with hands-on problem-solving.
  • Guide the installation of new quality methods and systems in the Clinton, CT facility.

Profile

The successful Quality Assurance Engineer (Aerospace) will have:

  • Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 quality management systems.
  • Hands-on experience with machining operations and inspection methods.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA).
  • Experience with gage calibration, geometric tolerancing, and first article inspection.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis (8D) and implement corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as Mil Specs, AMS, and QQ-S.
  • Experience developing PFMEAs, control plans, and PPAP documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to drive process improvements.
  • Experience with internal auditing and maintaining quality compliance.
  • Ability to train and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
