Operations Manager - Industrial Manufacturing - Rowley, MA

The Operations Manager is a senior site leadership role responsible for the overall effectiveness and coordination of manufacturing operations. This position provides leadership across indirect and support functions while partnering closely with the Production Manager, who oversees day‑to‑day floor execution.

Our client is a New England‑based contract manufacturing organization specializing in precision metal fabrication, machining, welding, finishing, and complex assemblies. They support OEM and Tier One customers across aerospace & defense, medical devices, semiconductor, data center, and industrial markets. Operating multiple facilities across the Northeast, the company offers vertically integrated, end‑to‑end manufacturing capabilities from engineering support through full‑scale production.

Description

• Oversee site‑level operations supporting production execution and performance
* Provide leadership across quality, shipping & receiving, purchasing, and accounting functions
* Partner closely with the Production Manager to address performance issues, staffing concerns, and employee relations matters
* Serve as an escalation point for direct labor concerns, conflicts, or underperformance
* Build strong working relationships and trust with shop‑floor personnel
* Ensure consistent quality standards across all manufacturing operations
* Oversee shipping and receiving activities to ensure accuracy and on‑time delivery
* Support operational efficiency initiatives focused on throughput, consistency, and execution
* Collaborate with the accounting/finance function on P&L awareness and operational alignment
* Maintain a dotted‑line partnership with engineering to support manufacturability and process needs
* Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
* Report to senior site leadership and support broader organizational initiatives

Profile

A successful Operations Manager should have:

• Strong leadership background with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach
