Quality Engineer l Rockford, IL
The Quality Engineer ensures that all enclosures manufactured meet strict quality standards by developing inspection processes, analyzing production data, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Based in Rockford, IL, this role collaborates closely with engineering and production teams to maintain compliance with industry regulations and customer specifications.

They are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to oversee key processes including metal fabrication, assembly, lasering, welding, and beyond. Description
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control systems and inspection processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle.
- Monitor product quality through data collection, analysis, and reporting; recommend improvements based on findings.
- Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues and ensure customer specifications are met.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action processes (CAPA).
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits and certifications (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Maintain documentation for quality processes, procedures, and compliance records.
- Support new product development by assessing potential quality risks and requirements.
- Train team members on quality standards and best practices.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality role, preferably in enclosure or metal fabrication industries.
- Strong understanding of quality systems, tools, and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, 8D, Six Sigma).
- Proficient in reading technical drawings and using measurement tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other relevant standards is preferred.
