Cost Accountant - Food & Beverage - NYC (Hybrid)

My client is looking for a Junior Cost Accountant with a strong background in manufacturing operations. As a Junior Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in analyzing production costs, monitoring inventory, and providing insights to optimize cost efficiency and profitability.

With multiple brands which manufacture hundreds of exquisite and innovative desserts which are brought to restaurant chains, supermarkets, distributors, e-commerce/catalogs/meal kit companies, hotels, airlines, convenience stores, club stores, caterers, and more all across North America.

Description

The Cost Accountant will:

• Play a key role in the client's upcoming ERP implementation
• Analyze and improve manufacturing costs,
• Prepare and present regular cost reports to management
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights to support accurate cost analysis.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, internal, and external audits
• Monitor inventory levels and valuation, analyze discrepancies, and identify opportunities to enhance cost accounting processes, streamline work flows, and improve data accuracy.

Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and cost accounting standards.
• Must be able to work in environment containing flour dust, wheat, milk, Egg, Soy (allergens) and infrequently travel.
