Financial Accountant

The Senior Accountant will support comprehensive accounting functions, including reconciliations, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting policies and GAAP principles. This role involves preparing accurate financial statements, analyzing financial data, and assisting with audits, tax filings, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and control.

The client was founded in New York City and is now the Largest Asset Manager in the world. Some of the services that they offer include asset management, portfolio construction, capital markets support, regulatory advisory etc.

Description

• Perform detailed reconciliations of accounts payable, receivable, and other key accounts to ensure accuracy and alignment with the general ledger.
• Prepare financial statements, budget reports, and analyses to support decision-making and track financial health.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required tasks.
• Collaborate on audits and tax filings to ensure compliance with regulatory and policy standards.
• Evaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and reduce errors.
• Provide insights on financial data, identify opportunities for cost-saving, and contribute to the forecasting process.

Profile

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

- 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable, receivable, financial reporting, and analysis

- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems (Netsuite, SAP, Oracle), along with advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables, VLookup)

- Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and the ability to assist with audits and tax filings

- Proven ability to identify inefficiencies in financial processes and recommend/implement improvements to increase operational efficiency
