Superintendent - Commercial Interiors - Alexandria, VA

The Superintendent will oversee and manage all on-site operations for a diverse range of large-scale, complex construction projects, including commercial, federal, and healthcare developments. These projects will vary in value from $1M to $25M.

Description

The Superintendent - Commercial Interiors - Alexandria, VA will be responsible for:

• Overseeing all on-site operations for large-scale, intricate construction projects in the commercial, federal, and healthcare sectors, with project values ranging from $30M to $150M+.
• Developing and managing the project schedules.
• Ensuring compliance with all OSHA safety standards and conducting weekly safety audits and inspections of the job site.
• Reviewing daily work reports and preparing a comprehensive project report each day.
• Keeping the worksite secure and free of hazards.
• Ensuring subcontractors deliver high-quality work.
• Identifying any safety concerns, construction issues, scheduling conflicts, or punch-list items.
• Collaborating with subcontractors to coordinate their schedules and allocate the necessary manpower to meet deadlines
• and stay within budget.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for subcontractors and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Finalizing RFIs, submittals, and reports, while ensuring effective communication with both internal teams and external partners, including subcontractors and clients.
• Managing the project closeout process, which includes completing checklists, handling punch list items, and gathering and distributing final project documentation.

Profile

The Superintendent - Commercial Interiors - Alexandria, VA will have:

• Approximately 5-10 years of experience in commercial construction.
• Background in general contracting.
• Proven track record of managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion. Project types may include, but are not limited to, healthcare, commercial, and federal sectors.
• Experience managing projects valued over $20M.
• Strong skills in managing site operations, labor relations, proactively addressing and resolving project issues, setting and enforcing schedule requirements, overseeing site safety and insurance risks, and managing subcontractors.
• Demonstrated longevity with current and previous employers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
