Legal Counsel - REIT
The Counsel will support the office of the General Counsel and be a key member of the Legal Department, providing legal advice and consultation on a variety of issues relating to the Company's business activities.

The Counsel will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Provide legal support for the Company's mortgage warehouse and repurchase facilities and its secured and unsecured credit facilities, and the Company's treasury function generally;
- Provide legal advice and consultation focused on a variety of legal issues relating to the commercial real estate industry, including bridge and mezzanine financing, and loan servicing;
- Work on CRE commercial loan obligation securitizations (and similar vehicles);
- Provide guidance and advice to various business units within the Company;
- Manage internal business relationships; and
- General corporate compliance and legal assistance, including but not limited to drafting and review of contracts and corporate resolutions, including those related to the Company's joint ventures and the general management of the Company's corporate structure
Profile
- J.D. with strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
- Admission to NY State Bar
- 1-4 years of experience with commercial finance transactions, mortgage warehouse facilities and other similar structured finance arrangements, including direct experience with coordinating closings gained at a top NYC law firm
- Other in-house corporate experience a plus, including corporate governance, treasury, corporate finance and contract administration.
- Relevant post-big law in-house experience also considered
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to solve complex legal issues
- Ability to work well cross-functionally
