Description
The Operations Manager will be responsible for:
- Lead daily meetings with the plating team and coordinate status updates, planned downtime, and production needs across departments.
- Serve as the key connection between planning and plating to align short-term forecasts with shift staffing requirements.
- Analyze long-term production trends to ensure equipment capacity and labor planning support consistent turnaround times.
- Manage a team of supervisors and operations staff, ensuring daily priorities are met and resolving any performance issues.
- Provide hands-on support when needed, including occasional coverage during second shifts or weekends, especially during critical periods.
- Ensure high-priority customer and engineering jobs are clearly communicated and prioritized accordingly.
- Develop and track key performance metrics to improve throughput, optimize equipment use, and guide production planning.
Profile
The successful Operations Manager will have what follows:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related discipline, providing a strong foundation for strategic decision-making.
- 8+ years of success in high-tech manufacturing environments, with proven expertise in both launching new products and scaling high-volume production.
- Proficient in ERP systems, with the ability to leverage data to optimize workflows and improve operational performance.
- A natural leader with a strong record of attracting top talent, building high-performing teams, and fostering a culture of growth and accountability.
- Experienced in driving continuous improvement through world-class manufacturing practices such as Six Sigma, Lean, SPC, Kaizen, 5S, and 8D-delivering measurable results in quality, efficiency, and cost.
