Description

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for earthwork projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary project information.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to determine project requirements.
  • Research and source materials, labor costs, and subcontractor pricing to develop comprehensive estimates.
  • Maintain and update a database of historical cost data for future reference and benchmarking.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Assist in preparing bid proposals and responding to client inquiries related to estimates.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust cost estimates as needed to reflect changes in scope or conditions.

Profile

A successful Earthwork Estimator should have:

  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices, particularly in earthwork projects.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess project requirements and develop accurate estimates.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
