Batteries - Principal Powder Engineer - Burlington, MA
The Principal Powder Processing Engineer will design and implement key components for battery manufacturing, focusing on dry bulk powder handling and mixing systems. This role involves optimizing processes and collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure project success in a fast-paced start-up environment.

It is developing innovative electrode manufacturing technology that aims to enhance efficiency and reduce costs while minimizing environmental impact.
Description
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of powder processing equipment systems, including handling, conveying, mixing, and metering.
- Drive innovation in equipment and processes in collaboration with strategic suppliers.
- Manage capital projects from concept to commissioning, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for new technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment performance while ensuring safety and compliance.
- Ensure systems meet safety and compliance standards for both in-house and partner/customer sites globally.
- Mentor and train team members on industry best practices and equipment operation to foster continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to both internal teams and customers.
Profile
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a degree in engineering or a related field, with knowledge of powder handling and mixing technologies.
- Extensive experience in designing and implementing various processing equipment and systems.
- Familiar with industry standards and regulations related to hazardous materials.
- Knowledgeable about leading suppliers in the bulk handling equipment sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects focused on technology development and commercialization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach.
- Proficient in relevant software and project management tools.
- Understanding of operational excellence principles.
- Willingness to travel for project support as needed.
