Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Construction to lead our construction operations in New York City. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale public projects, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for delivering projects on time and within budget. As the Director of Construction, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction projects, from pre-construction planning to project closeout, while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction.

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the construction team, including project managers, superintendents, and support staff.
  • Oversee all aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor management, and quality control.
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project teams and clients.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identify potential risks and issues, and implement proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards, as well as client requirements and specifications.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and collaboration among project teams and subcontractors.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and other project partners.
  • Lead by example and inspire a high level of performance and professionalism among team members.

Profile

Director of Construction - New York City

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on public projects in New York City.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects and teams from conception to completion.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods, practices, and techniques, as well as relevant regulations and codes.
  • Experience working with public agencies and navigating the complexities of public procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to train and maintain a strong and succesfull team
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
