Senior Accountant- Food Manufacturing- Chicago

Reporting into the Controller, you will be responsible with assisting various accounting functions including month-end, audit requests, sales and used tax, and more! In addition, you will also receive mentorship and development from the team, and gain exposure to the finance side by assisting in the forecasting and budgeting process.

Client Details

I'm partnered with the CFO at an industry leading, global manufacturer, and the fastest growing company in their space! This client manufactures over 600 various products in their field and are experiencing massive growth. With this growth, they are now looking to bring on a Senior Accountant to join their team.

Reporting into the Controller, you will be responsible with assisting various accounting functions including month-end, audit requests, sales and used tax, and more! In addition, you will also receive mentorship and development from the team, and gain exposure to the finance side by assisting in the forecasting and budgeting process.

Description

• Complete month-end close duties such as journal entries and accrual analysis
• Responsible for monitoring all bank accounts and transactions on a daily/weekly basis
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations
• Analyze financial statements on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy
• Assist with audits and documentation of internal controls
• Record fixed assets, dispositions, and depreciation in the system
• Ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed

Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
• SAP knowledge a huge plus, company went through an implementation last year
• Manufacturing experience preferred
• CPA nice to have
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables + vlookups)
• General ledger accounting experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
