SVP, Real Estate Private Equity Counsel

Exciting opportunity to join privately held real estate investment firm as SVP, Counsel, supporting all real estate investment and transactional legal matters. Reports directly to General Counsel and works closely with executive management team.

Description

Reporting to the General Counsel, the attorney will be responsible for supporting the equity investments and real estate development transactions of the investment company and its' affiliates. This role will be responsible for managing acquisitions, joint ventures, sales, development, construction and financing of privately owned multifamily real estate assets. The Counsel will be responsible for managing corporate legal matters, including fund formation, compliance and risk management.

Profile

• JD from top US law school
• NY State Bar
• 7-12 years of experience within the real estate private equity legal field, managing real estate private equity transactions from start to finish (multifamily asset class), including acquisitions, JVs, sales, development, construction and financings
• Experience must include time at an AmLaw 100 firm within real estate/private equity practice
• Experience gained in-house within the real estate private equity space is ideal
• Excellent communication and presentation
• Ability to work in-office in Manhattan
