Quality Engineer | Aerospace | Chicago, IL
The Quality Engineer will sit on the quality team to assist with maintaining products and processes compliance with the clients QMS. This individual will work directly with high profile customers to identify the root cause of non-confromances, as well as communicating internally to develop a system to improve quality at the source.

Our client is an aerospace manufacturer located in the western suburbs. They seek a Quality Supervisor to oversee their lab at their facility. Their clients include well known OEMs, such as Boeing, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman. They leverage their quality department as the forefront of their business and pride themselves on their employee centric culture with every other Friday off, no weekends and shortened work days.
Description
- Involved in developing quality control policies and evaluates production limitations
- Ability to work cross functionally to resolve quality issues
- Work directly with OEM manufacturers to discuss product quality
- Maintain and continuously the develop the companies QMS
- Assist with creating and maintaining quality documentation
- Support first article inspection, approve materials, final product assemblies by confirming specifications, conduct visual and measurement tests, and rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
- Ability to troubleshoot CMM programming
- Understanding of root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action
- Read and interpret blueprints and customer specifications to establish correct inspection criteria
- Working knowledge of NADCAP regulations
Profile
- 5+ years experience in quality within manufacturing
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Knowledgeable of Gage R&R and other calibration methods
- Understanding of ISO 9001 standards
- Able to read and interpret customer GD&T blueprints
- Experience within aerospace preferred
Job Offer
- Competitive base salary between $80,000-$95,000, depending on experience and skills
- 10% Bonus
- 3 weeks PTO
