Heavy Civil Superintendent

The Paving Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of paving operations on construction sites, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the paving industry, excellent leadership skills, and a strong understanding of construction processes, from initial planning to project completion.

Description

• Supervise and manage paving crews on various construction sites, ensuring the proper installation of asphalt and concrete pavements.
• Plan and schedule daily activities, ensuring adequate labor, equipment, and materials are available for each project.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor and enforce safety protocols to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
• Inspect worksite conditions, materials, and equipment to ensure quality control and adherence to specifications.
• Resolve issues and challenges that arise on-site, including delays, technical problems, or resource shortages.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of project progress, issues, and daily activities.
• Maintain a strong focus on client satisfaction and resolve any concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess work progress and quality.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of paving equipment and machinery.
• Provide mentorship and training to crew members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Profile

• Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in paving operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Skills: Strong leadership and organizational skills; excellent communication abilities.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of paving techniques, materials, and equipment. Familiarity with local construction codes and industry best practices.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in construction management or related field is a plus.
• Certifications: OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred.
• Licenses: Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 30 lbs. on occasion.
