Superintendent - Civil Construction - Sunnyvale

As a Superintendent for our Civil Group, you will be the key on-site leader for our Caltrain project. Your role is crucial in ensuring that the project is completed safely, on time, and within budget while adhering to the highest standards of quality.

My client is a leading commercial general contractor specializing in several different markets, including large-scale civil construction. With a commitment to innovation and excellence, they handle some of the most high-profile and complex projects in the Bay Area. Their current major focus is on a significant Caltrain project aimed at enhancing regional rail infrastructure.

Description

• Manage day-to-day operations on the Caltrain project site, ensuring all activities comply with project plans, schedules, and safety regulations.
• Supervise and motivate project staff, subcontractors, and vendors. Provide direction and support to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
• Develop and manage project schedules. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of tasks and resolution of issues.
• Monitor and enforce quality control standards. Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets project specifications and industry standards.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a safe working environment. Conduct safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations.
• Address and resolve on-site issues promptly. Adapt plans and schedules as needed to overcome obstacles and keep the project on track.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including daily reports, progress reports, and any changes to scope or schedule.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for on-site communications. Facilitate effective communication between the field and office teams.

Profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in civil construction, with a strong background in rail infrastructure projects preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is highly desirable.
• OSHA 30-hour certification, First Aid/CPR, and other relevant certifications are preferred.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
