Superintendent

A respected Long Island-based general contractor is seeking a seasoned Superintendent to oversee commercial ground-up construction projects from sitework through closeout. The role offers full ownership of the field and the chance to lead impactful builds that shape the local business landscape.

Description

• Lead all on-site construction activities for commercial ground-up builds

• Oversee subcontractors, enforce site safety, and ensure adherence to project plans and timelines

• Maintain the construction schedule and coordinate with Project Manager on critical path items

• Run daily job site meetings, manage logistics, and maintain quality control

• Conduct inspections and maintain site reports, punch lists, and progress documentation

• Ensure all work complies with local codes, permits, and environmental requirements

Profile

• 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on ground-up commercial construction projects

• Proven ability to lead site operations from excavation through CO

• OSHA 30-hour certification required

• Strong knowledge of local subcontractors, building codes, and sequencing

• Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills

• Ability to read blueprints and proactively solve problems in the field

• Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) a plus
