Associate Relationship Manager, TMT & Consumer

A global financial institution is seeking an Associate/AVP to support Relationship Managers in originating, evaluating, and managing corporate banking relationships within the TMT and Consumer sectors. This role combines client development, credit analysis, portfolio monitoring, and first‑line risk management responsibilities. It is well‑suited for candidates looking to deepen their corporate banking expertise and gain broad exposure across front‑office activities.

Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Client Development

  • Support Relationship Managers in identifying and soliciting targeted corporate clients.
  • Assist in building and maintaining business relationships and promoting approved banking products and services.
  • Analyze client needs and help identify new business opportunities.
  • Assist in evaluating transactions and coordinating with banking partners and prospective clients on deal terms.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
  • Support portfolio monitoring, work‑plan development, and achievement of annual business targets.

2. Due Diligence & Credit Support

  • Conduct initial due diligence and partner with KYC specialists to complete onboarding requirements.
  • Assist in preparing credit ratings, credit line applications, and financial/credit analysis.
  • Draft credit application reports and coordinate with Credit, Legal, and other internal stakeholders throughout the approval process.
  • Support the closing process, including documentation, checklists, funding coordination, and file management in accordance with internal policies.

3. First Line of Defense (1LoD) Risk Management

  • Support risk ownership across products and risk categories as part of the 1LoD framework.
  • Assist in identifying, escalating, and managing risks in accordance with policies and controls.
  • Contribute to loan classifications, transaction‑level monitoring, and covenant tracking.
  • Update covenant information in internal systems and report breaches promptly.
  • Assist in identifying early signs of credit deterioration and coordinating rating or classification adjustments.
  • Perform post‑disbursement reviews, emerging risk assessments, and ongoing KYC updates.
  • Support timely completion of required reports and follow‑up on non‑performing exposures.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting attestations as required.

4. Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain accurate client communication logs and call notes.
  • Support Relationship Managers in gathering client feedback and coordinating internal responses.
  • Assist in developing relationship plans and tracking economic returns.
  • Coordinate client visits, meetings, and engagement activities.
  • Help deliver tailored solutions and enhance cross‑sell opportunities based on client needs.

5. Risk Management Enhancement & Remediation

  • Support implementation of remediation plans and collaborate with other teams on corrective actions.
  • Participate in internal and external training to strengthen risk management capabilities.
  • Provide feedback on remediation progress and issues encountered.

6. Additional Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all policies, procedures, and codes of conduct.
  • Participate in required training programs and compliance activities.
  • Conduct industry research in TMT and Consumer sectors as needed.
  • Provide backup support to team members and assist with reporting for team leadership.
  • Perform other ad‑hoc tasks as assigned.

Profile

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Marketing, or related field.
  • 4-5 years of corporate banking or related experience (operations, credit, or marketing).
  • Experience in TMT and/or Consumer sectors preferred.
  • Formal credit training is a plus.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; bilingual English/Mandarin preferred.
  • High attention to detail and strong time‑management skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, self‑starter mindset.

Job Offer

  • $90,000 - $125,000 base salary.
