As the OEM Business Development Manager, you will lead national OEM growth for a precsion metals manufaturer. You also will be remote travelling to clients, with work life balance.

Our client is a privately held, U.S.-based manufacturer with a long-standing reputation in precision metal processing. With decades of operational experience, the company specializes in producing high-tolerance round bar products and engineered components across a range of carbon, alloy, and specialty metals.They serve a diverse OEM customer base spanning industries such as aerospace, medical, industrial equipment, and transportation. The organization is known for its hands-on engineering support, reliable delivery, and ability to meet demanding performance and quality standards. Their value proposition centers on consistency, technical capability, and long-term customer partnerships within complex supply chains.




Description

OEM Business Development & Commercial Strategy

  • Lead national business development efforts focused on OEM customers, driving growth across key industrial and engineered product markets.
  • Develop and execute a strategic commercial approach to expand market share within precision round bar and related product categories.
  • Own pipeline development, opportunity qualification, and long-cycle deal execution within highly technical, specification-driven environments.



Customer Engagement & Account Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across engineering, sourcing, quality, and operations within OEM organizations.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts through deeper technical and commercial engagement.
  • Navigate complex sales cycles involving qualification processes, testing requirements, and multi-level decision-making structures.



Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with internal operations, quality, and engineering teams to align on customer requirements, feasibility, and execution.
  • Act as the commercial voice of the customer internally, ensuring clear communication throughout quoting, production, and delivery phases.
  • Support pricing strategy, margin management, and long-term account planning in collaboration with senior leadership.

Profile

A successful OEM Business Development Manager should have:

  • Proven success in business development, sales, or account management in the industrial or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of OEM partnerships and their business models.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and translate them into actionable business strategies.
  • Ability to communicate technical value beyond price, including tolerances, material performance, and application-specific requirements.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and consultative selling skills across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Willingness to travel nationally to support key customer engagements.
  • Valid U.S. work authorization.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
