Description

The Estimator - Multifamily GC - NoVA / DC Metro will be instrumental in preparing detailed cost estimates and collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to establish and monitor project budgets. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing cost estimates for multifamily construction projects by assessing materials, labor, equipment, permits, and overhead costs.
• Performing quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering plans.
• Soliciting and evaluating bids from subcontractors and suppliers for cost-effective solutions.
• Identifying cost-saving opportunities through value engineering.
• Maintaining accurate records of estimates, budgets, and change orders.
• Building and nurturing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Staying updated on industry trends affecting project costs.
• Collaborating closely with project teams to ensure accurate estimating and risk mitigation.

Profile

The Estimator - Multifamily GC - NoVA / DC Metro will have:

• at least 2 years of experience as an Estimator with a General Contractor
• multifamily project experience required
• a bachelor's degree in a construction related field preferred
• proficiency in construction estimating software, spreadsheets and other relevant tools
• strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• ability to handle multiple project simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
• strong problem-solving skills
