Product Specialist - Wire Harnesses - Peabody MA
As a Product Specialist for Wire Harnesses, you will play a key role in the development, technical support, and management of wire harness products. This role requires a strong understanding of the manufacturing process, materials, and engineering principles related to wire harnesses, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet customer and product requirements.

The client is a market leader in wire and cable harnesses for the defense and industrial markets exclusively. They are owned by a $12B global electronics manufacturer whose very well known in New England and around the world with facilites in over 40 countries. Our client has been in business since the early 1930's and recently celebrated 30 years on the NYSE.
Description
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) on wire harness products and applications.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of wire harness designs, components, materials, and industry standards.
- Provide technical support to internal teams (sales, engineering, production) and customers regarding wire harnesses.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to support the development and refinement of wire harness products.
- Assist in creating and reviewing design specifications, product documentation, and technical drawings.
- Ensure that product designs meet customer specifications and industry standards (e.g., UL, SAE, RoHS).
- Work directly with customers to understand their needs and provide technical guidance on wire harness solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any product-related issues or concerns, coordinating with other teams as necessary.
- Conduct product demonstrations and provide technical training to customers, distributors, or internal teams.
- Ensure the successful transition of product designs to the manufacturing floor.
- Support the quality control team in monitoring product quality, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.
- Work with manufacturing teams to resolve production issues and optimize the assembly process.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies in the wire harness sector.
- Provide insights and recommendations for new product development or enhancements to existing products.
- Support the creation of marketing materials and product documentation.
- Provide technical training and support to the sales team to ensure they have the necessary product knowledge.
- Assist the sales team in responding to customer inquiries, creating product proposals, and generating sales leads.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in wire harness product development, engineering, or technical support.
- Experience with electrical components, assembly, and manufacturing processes.
- Strong understanding of wire harness design principles and standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA, SAE, UL).
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for reviewing and assisting in design documentation.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards related to wire harness products.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and sales.
- Ability to travel as needed to support customers or internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with automotive, aerospace, or industrial wire harness applications.
- Certification or training in quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) or project management.
