Quality Manager - CNC Manufacturing - Dover, NH
The Quality Manager, CNC manufacturing, will lead all aspects of the company's Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with internal and customer requirements while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization. They will oversee quality operations, mentor inspection staff, and collaborate closely with production to resolve issues, and improve process at our Dover, NH facility.

My client is a high-precision manufacturer based in New England, specializing in complex CNC machining for critical components used in aerospace, defense, energy, and other high-performance industrial applications. With a strong foundation in advanced turning and 5-axis milling, they are known for their ability to hold extremely tight tolerances and deliver consistent quality across both prototype and production volumes. The team brings decades of deep technical expertise and works closely with OEM partners to engineer process improvements and reduce manufacturing costs. Description
The Quality Manager, CNC Industrial Manufacturing, will:
- Oversee and continuously improve the Quality Management System to ensure compliance with internal standards and customer requirements
- Lead daily quality operations, including inspections, documentation control, and customer issue resolution
- Supervise and mentor quality personnel, including inspectors and technicians, to ensure consistent quality output
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to develop quality plans
- Manage First Article Inspections (FAIs), Certificates of Conformance (C of Cs), and gage calibration programs
- Analyze inspection data and trends to drive root cause investigations and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal audits, customer audits, and quality-related communications
- Collaborate with production leadership to resolve quality issues and drive a culture of accountability
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency
- Maintain organized quality documentation and records in accordance with QMS and ISO requirements
- Facilitate MRB reviews and lead non-conformance investigations and resolutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization, including training and project execution
- Onsite at our Dover, NH facility
Profile
- 3-5+ years of experience in quality management within a CNC machining or precision manufacturing environment
- Previous experience as a quality manager preferred
- Strong working knowledge of QMS and ISO standards; experience leading audits and compliance activities
- Proficiency with CMM operation and inspection tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications to develop robust quality controls
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience mentoring quality or technical staff
- Solid understanding of root cause analysis, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma or Lean)
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and represent quality in customer discussions
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and quality-related reporting tools
- An associate's or bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered
- Familiarity with ATF compliance or regulated environments is a plus
