Quality Manager - Gears
This is a high-level quality manager position with a leader of custom gear and gearbox manufacturing in the Chicagoland area. Client Details
The hiring organization is a medium-sized business services company specializing in providing top-tier engineering and manufacturing solutions. They are committed to innovation, operational excellence, and delivering high-quality products for their clients.
Description
- Maintain high levels of internal and external customer service, investigate (and correct) customer issues and complaints relating to quality through corrective actions and active follow ups
- Supervise workers engages in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity
- Lead ISO9001 and AS9100 audits internally and externally
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products
- Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams
- Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives
- Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
- Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures
- Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within Company
- Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle
- Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes
- Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts
- Create and direct environmental test functions and applications
- Maintain active role on internal Continuous Improvement teams
- Design, develop and implement quality control training programs
Profile
- 5+ years of experience in Gear/Gearbox Manufacturing
- Bachelors degree in Engineering strongly preferred
- In lieu of degree, 7+ years of experience in quality within a gear manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to speak with customers and handle corrective actions
- Non-conformance reporting expert
- Strong understanding of ISO9001 at a minimum, AS9100 a plus.
- Lead auditor certifications a plus
- ITAR Compliance
- Strong core quality tools - FAI, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, etc
- Relocation offered if all requirements are met
Job Offer
- Salary ranging from $105,000 to $135,000 depending on relevant experience and tenure
- Discretionary bonus up to ~10%
