Business Development Manager - Gene Therapy CRO

$70,000 - $85,000/Year

Reporting to the VP, this individual will lead Business Development & Account Management for CRO & CDMO services across the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California region.

The BD Manager will work with cross-functional teams (including technical support team, project management team and production team) to achieve sales goals for the assigned territory.

This client is an established one-stop-shop gene therapy CRO/CDMO which offers plasmids, viral vectors, fill-finish, QC analytical, and AAV manufacturing services with innovative, scalable, and cost-effective solutions. The business has been well established for over a decade with customers in over 30 countries and has found back-to-back growth YoY, particularly in the US.

Description

  • Responsible for generating new business of the customer base through direct customer visits and flawless project management
  • Develop and execute both short- and long-term business development and marketing strategies aimed at achieving the company's growth and profitability objectives.
  • Lead high-level business development initiatives, including prospecting, meeting with potential clients, delivering presentations on company capabilities, negotiating contracts, and managing the end-to-end process of onboarding new clients.
  • Formulate and implement sales strategies to target organizations for products & services.
  • Collaborate closely with the scientific research team to ensure that potential and existing clients receive a seamless and responsive experience throughout the sales cycle.
  • Proactively generate new business opportunities through cold-calling, networking, and outreach to prospective clients; maintain strong relationships with existing and past clients.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, biotechnology, or related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a Scientist position, specifically within gene therapy or cell, and a high level of technical and professional expertise
  • Strong business acumen and ability to generate new business and manage client relationships.
