Director of Business Development - Commercial Construction

Strategic Planning and Market Analysis:- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the company's growth objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, key industry players, and potential opportunities in the commercial construction sector.
- Evaluate and prioritize target markets and clients based on revenue potential and alignment with the company's capabilities.

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, architects, project managers, and decision-makers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, referrals, cold outreach, and industry events.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions to meet project requirements.

Proposal Development and Contract Negotiation:- Oversee the preparation of high-quality proposals, presentations, and bids to secure new projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals accurately reflect the company's capabilities and competitive advantages.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms that align with company objectives.

Collaboration and Leadership:- Work closely with the project management, estimating, and operations teams to ensure seamless project handoffs and client satisfaction.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior business development staff, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility.

Performance Metrics and Reporting:- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development efforts, including revenue growth, client retention, and market share.
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on business development activities, progress, and challenges.
Profile
Director of Business Development - Commercial Construction
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the commercial construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully securing and managing high-value contracts and client relationships.
- Strong understanding of the construction process, project lifecycle, and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other business development tools.
