Process Engineer | Precision Machining | Burr Ridge, IL
The Process Engineer will lead efforts to enhance manufacturing efficiency and precision by designing and implementing automated and semi-automated systems. The Process Engineer role involves developing detailed process documentation, collaborating with customers and internal teams, and qualifying new tooling to ensure high-quality production standards.

Description
Lead process improvements in manufacturing, focusing on automation and efficiency
Develop and document processes for close-tolerance tooling, ensuring quality standards
Evaluate and enhance existing manufacturing processes to optimize performance
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to address technical inquiries and issues
Manage custom tooling projects, including cost estimation and documentation
Oversee day-to-day orders, quotations, and supplier communications
Perform inspection functions and provide assembly support related to manufacturing drawings
Qualify new tooling before release for manufacturing
Provide regular activity reports and project updates to the management team
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field preferred but not required
3-5 years of process engineering or manufacturing experience, preferably in precision machining
Strong knowledge of automation, tooling, and lean manufacturing principles
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and process documentation tools
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
Experience working with aerospace, medical, or high-precision industries is a plus
Familiarity with quality standards such as AS9100D and Nadcap preferred
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Job Offer
- Base salary between $80,000 - $95,000, depending on experience
- 11 days PTO and paid company holidays
- 401k match
- Benefits offered through BCBS
- 5-10% bonus target with profit sharing plan as well
