Heavy Civil Superintendent - Construction - Queens, NY
This Superintendent role leads all on-site operations for a range of heavy civil projects across NYC. You'll manage subcontractors, enforce safety, and ensure productivity from planning through delivery.

A nimble and fast-growing contractor with a portfolio spanning $50K-$50M infrastructure projects, this firm values boots-on-the-ground leadership, accountability, and rapid decision-making. With a team of 20-25 professionals, their culture is built on action, results, and deep field experience. Current and upcoming projects include a botanical garden redevelopment and an NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) project.
Description
- Oversee daily site operations and ensure safety compliance
- Read and interpret project plans; lead crews to deliver on scope, budget, and timeline
- Coordinate subcontractors, schedule inspections, and manage materials
- Submit daily reports, T&M tracking, and payroll data
- Proactively communicate with PMs, clients, and field liaison
- Maintain site cleanliness, safety protocols, and manage field resources
- Monitor budget performance and flag cost variances early
Profile
You're a hands-on leader with experience in the NYC heavy civil construction industry, ideally in non-union environments. You've run crews, read plans, managed budgets, and led utility/DEP projects. You're SST certified, comfortable with tech tools like Foundation and GoCanvas, and know how to command respect on site while maintaining clear communication with all project stakeholders.
