Construction- Assistant Project Manager- Manhattan, NY

We're looking for a driven and detail‑oriented Assistant Project Manager with commercial interiors or retail build‑out experience to support exciting projects throughout Brooklyn. Client Details

Our client is a respected commercial retail general contractor specializing in stylish, modern interior buildouts for national brands, boutique retailers, and experiential spaces. Known for their hands‑on approach, great communication, and commitment to quality craftsmanship, they offer a supportive environment where APMs can grow quickly and play a meaningful role in delivering high‑impact projects.

Description

    • Support Project Managers with daily project coordination, scheduling, documentation, and communication.
    • Assist with RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, procurement, and tracking project milestones.
    • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to keep retail interiors projects running smoothly.
    • Review drawings, update logs, support site walkthroughs, and troubleshoot issues with the PM and Superintendent.
    • Help maintain budgets, change orders, progress tracking, and project documentation.
    • Ensure all work aligns with branding, design intent, and quality expectations for commercial retail environments.

Profile

A successful Assistant Project Manager should have:

      • Experience supporting commercial interiors or retail construction projects (NYC experience is a plus).
      • Strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset.
      • Able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
      • Familiarity with construction documentation, drawings, and project software.
      • A collaborative team player who wants to learn, grow, and eventually step into a full PM role.
