Staff Accountant - Leading Manufacturer - Naperville, IL
I'm partnered with the CFO at a growing, multi-million dollar, family-owned manufacturer near Naperville, IL. The company is in rapid growth mode and looking to add to their team by bringing on a Staff Accountant!
Reporting into the VP, you will be a key member of the accounting team, working closely with the Senior Leaders and providing financial information to impact operating decisions. The Staff Accountant will assist in the month-end close process and manage the weekly payroll function, while gaining exposure to various areas in accounting and finance.

The Staff Accountant will assist in the month-end close process and manage the weekly payroll function, while gaining exposure to various areas in accounting and finance.
Description
Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Handle day-to-day responsibilities including vendor payments and reconciliations, sales tax payments and reconciliations, etc.
- Assist the VP with the month-end closing process, including preparing month-end journal entries, including bank and credit card reconciliations, prepaids, accruals, depreciation, etc.
- Take full ownership of the weekly payroll process.
- Communicate directly with internal clients and managers face-to-face.
- Support the Controller in A/P, A/R, General Ledger, reporting, audits, and financial statement analysis.
- Ensure integrity of financial data, maintain confidentiality, and exhibit ethics and integrity.
- Impact the overall organization in the most positive way possible, fostering leadership, collaboration, and a culture that is admired by the company and the industry
- Handle ad hoc requests, such as running reports and providing financial insights.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Manufacturing (or Construction) experience needed
- Experience processing payroll for a large volume of employees.
- Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and analytical thinking, and the ability to think outside the box and improve existing processes
- Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP
- ERP system experience (preferred) or other accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage Intacct
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
