Assistant Superintendent - Ground up Multifamily

I am partnered with a well respected Western Massachusetts builder looking to hire an Assistant Superintendent who will support ground up multifamily and mixed use projects across the Springfield area. This is a great opportunity for someone with early career experience or a carpentry background who wants to grow into a full Superintendent role.

My client is a long standing construction firm with deep roots in Western Massachusetts and a reputation for high quality work. Operating for over four decades, they deliver ground up multifamily, mixed use, commercial, and institutional projects ranging from $10M - $40M, all while maintaining a small company feel backed by the resources of a larger parent organization. Almost all work is within one hour of Springfield, giving their team a strong work life balance and limited travel. They are known for low turnover, a collaborative culture, and a hands on, problem solving approach that sets them apart in the market.

Description

• Support the Lead Superintendent with day to day onsite management
• Assist in coordinating trades, maintaining the project schedule, and ensuring quality
• Perform hands on tasks as needed to support project progress
• Help maintain site safety and documentation requirements
• Work with project teams on daily reporting, inspections, and logistics
• Interact professionally with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to onsite planning
• Ensure alignment with company standards and client expectations

Profile

A successful Assistant Superintendent should have:

• 2+ years of construction experience, ideally in ground up or multifamily
• Candidates from a carpentry background are encouraged to apply
• Familiarity with Procore is preferred
• OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 preferred but can be provided by the company
• MA CSL highly preferred but not required
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work on active job sites
• Desire to learn, grow, and support a lead onsite team
