Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in the construction industry. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to manage financial records efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Our client is a well-established medium-sized organization in the construction industry. They specialize in providing comprehensive construction solutions and are committed to delivering exceptional service to their clients.
Description
Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
Develop year-end workpapers to support the financial statement audit and tax return preparation processes.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, classified, and documented in accordance with accounting standards.
Prepare and post journal entries to accurately reflect business activity.
Perform reconciliations for bank accounts, intercompany accounts, inventory, and other balance sheet accounts.
Maintain and track fixed assets, including depreciation and disposals.
Prepare and file state and federal fuel tax returns, sales tax filings, and highway use tax reports.
Assist with the preparation of income and expense reports and personal property tax declarations.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting principles, regulations, and internal controls.
Support month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Assist with tax preparation and related filings.
Maintain and update financial records within accounting systems such as Great Plains, QuickBooks, JD Edwards, and Sage.
Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies through detailed account analysis.
Support ad hoc accounting projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
3-5 years of hands-on experience in general accounting functions.
Solid understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
Proven experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
