Customer Desk & Demand Planning Manager

The Customer Desk and Demand Planning Manager leads and develops a high-performance team responsible for managing customer demand, shipment planning, and ensuring timely delivery in alignment with company goals. They drive continuous improvements, ensure compliance with quality standards, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize inventory, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.

Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier in the automotive, commercial vehicle, off highway markets specializing in the manufacturing solutions that serve OEM and Aftermarket customers globally. This client has solutions for internal combustion and electrification applications and continues to drive innovation.

Description

Team Management and Development:

  • Leading, training, and developing the Customer Desk team for high performance.
  • Managing performance reviews and career development for team members (HPD, MRR, PDS).

Demand and Shipment Planning:

  • Coordinating weekly demand management and ensuring adherence to EDI integration processes.
  • Monitoring and addressing EDI errors, validating forecasts, and managing deviations in demand.
  • Driving shipment planning and coordinating with regional demand planning and Customer Management teams.

Customer Satisfaction & Performance:

  • Managing Customer OTTR (On Time to Request) and Past Due metrics.
  • Performing customer satisfaction measurements (CDI, NPS) and driving action plans for improvement.
  • Conducting analysis sessions on delivery performance and defining action plans.

Production and Product Introduction:

  • Supporting production transfers and new product introductions to avoid excess and obsolete inventory (E&O).
  • Coordinating the execution of the delivery plan and working to optimize FGI (Finished Goods Inventory) in line with SIOP goals.

Process Adherence and Improvement:

  • Ensuring the team operates within the frameworks of internal systems like SAP.
  • Driving continuous improvements by proposing and implementing process changes.
  • Engaging in Six Sigma principles for project management and process optimization.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Coordinating across teams such as Sales, Supply Chain, Supply Planning, and Plant Warehouses for demand forecasting and shipment planning.
  • Aligning with supply chain operations and actively participating in meetings like SIOP and demand planning.

Compliance & Quality Management:

  • Ensuring compliance with IATF16949 & ISO9001 standards in all activities.
  • Managing reporting and processes to meet functional KPIs related to customer satisfaction, E&O, inventory, and premium freight.

Strategic & Tactical Planning:

  • Managing the annual SDP (Strategic Development Process) and aligning with AOP (Annual Operating Plan).
  • Supporting and leading key projects aligned with business goals.

Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree, Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics
  • 5+ years' experience in customer service, demand planning, sales and supply chain planning experience
  • Must have 5+ years industrial manufacturing experience

Key Skills and Knowledge:

  • English proficiency level; Spanish, Portuguese proficiency added advantage
  • Proficiency in custromer service methods, methodology & tools with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts
  • Strong analytical & statistical skills
  • ERP tools viz o9, SAP skills required and other software related to demand planning preferred
  • Experienced with MS Office (Excel advanced, PowerPoint, PowerBi etc.)
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Preferred - Six Sigma Green Belt Certification / equivalent certification
